[김천=황악신문] 경북도 김천의료원에서 15년 만에 다시 들리기 시작한 아기 울음소리가 지역사회에 큰 희망의 메시지를 전달하고 있다. 경북도는 지난 20일 김천의료원에서 건강한 남아가 탄생했다고 발표했다. 이는 지난해 분만산부인과 리모델링 후 올해 1월 1일부터 새롭게 운영을 시작한 이후 첫 사례로 기록됐다.

김천의료원 분만산부인과는 2008년 운영 중단 이후 15년 만에 재운영에 들어갔다. 경상북도와 김천의료원은 총 7억 6천만 원을 투자해 시설 리모델링과 의료 장비를 갖추고, 필수 의료를 위한 산부인과 전문의를 충원하는 등 체계적인 준비 과정을 거쳤다.

김천의료원의은 분만부터 산후조리, 소아진료까지 원스톱 서비스를 제공하며, 지역 내 공공의료기관으로서 출산과 양육에 필요한 종합적인 지원을 아끼지 않을 계획이다.

황영호 경상북도 복지건강국장은 "저출생 극복을 위해 다각적인 정책을 추진 중이며, 이 중에서도 의료 분야가 중요하다고 생각한다"며, "김천의료원의 분만산부인과 운영 재개는 도민이 체감할 수 있는 공공의료 서비스 제공에 큰 의의가 있으며, 앞으로도 지역 공공의료의 역할을 강화해 나갈 것"이라고 밝혔다.

Gyeongbuk Gimcheon Medical Center Sets a New Milestone in Overcoming Low Birth Rates

[Gimcheon=Hwangak Newspaper] The sound of a baby's cry, heard again at the Gyeongbuk Gimcheon Medical Center after 15 years, is delivering a message of hope to the local community. On the 20th, Gyeongbuk Province announced the birth of a healthy baby boy at the Gimcheon Medical Center. This marks the first case since the obstetrics and gynecology department resumed operations on January 1st this year, following last year's remodeling.

The obstetrics and gynecology department of Gimcheon Medical Center has restarted operations after a 15-year hiatus since 2008. Gyeongbuk Province and Gimcheon Medical Center have invested a total of 760 million won in remodeling facilities and equipping medical devices, as well as supplementing obstetricians for essential medical services, following a systematic preparation process.

Gimcheon Medical Center plans to provide one-stop services from childbirth to postnatal care and pediatric treatment, sparing no effort in offering comprehensive support for childbirth and parenting as a public medical institution in the region.

Hwang Young-ho, the Director of the Welfare and Health Bureau of Gyeongbuk Province, stated, "We are pursuing various policies to overcome the low birth rate, among which the medical sector is considered crucial. The resumption of the obstetrics and gynecology department at Gimcheon Medical Center is significant in providing public medical services that residents can experience firsthand, and we will continue to strengthen the role of regional public medical services in the future."
